The Los Angeles City Council appointed Kenneth E. Lord to the Board of Harbor Commissioners, replacing Michael Schwab, who resigned earlier this year. Lord is secretary-treasurer of Local 1-128 of the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers International Union.
