Don’t start ordering up the flowers just yet, but female America’s favorite private eye, Tom Selleck, is scheduled to die on Wednesday. It appears that the season-finale script for “Magnum, P.I.” was written back when the series was flailing in the ratings and Selleck wanted to take his career elsewhere. Just how they’re going to revive Magnum in time for the eighth season--he’s promised the seventh season won’t have all been a dream--is still to be decided.
