The first of five programs concerning the design of Los Angeles’ four new museums will be held Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Bing Theater.
Four of the programs, sponsored by the Southern California Institute of Architecture, will focus on the design of a different facility and will include a behind-the-scenes tour. The other program will examine museum design from the client’s perspective.
Thursday’s program will focus on MOCA’s Pavilion for Japanese Art. An April 28 program will examine the California Afro-American Museum; May 7, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Robert O. Anderson Building, and June 4, the entire MOCA complex. The program on design from the client’s perspective will be held May 21 at the Pacific Design Center.
Ticket information can be obtained from the institute’s Santa Monica headquarters.
