Survey of Hazardous Materials Approved

At the request of Councilman Archie Snow, the Redondo Beach City Council has authorized a survey of all commercial sites that may have hazardous substances.
The survey will be conducted by city personnel of properties such as service stations, automotive repair shops, dry cleaning facilities and oil well sites. The information will enable the city to develop an ongoing program to identify, inspect and monitor such sites for the public welfare, Snow said.
The council will review any findings and recommendations on how to implement such a program when the survey is completed.
