When will it end? Peter H. Brown and Jim Pinkston either don’t know the facts or only care to spread lies.
In their article on Oscar trivia (“Garbo Didn’t, Cher Did, Kim Slimmed,” March 29), their phrase “as Redgrave heaped praise on the PLO as part of her acceptance speech” is all wrong. Many newspapers, magazines and TV shows at the time recorded Redgrave’s speech.
If Brown and Pinkston had researched they would have found no mention or even reference to the PLO. No one benefits from perpetrating lies and vicious rumors. Bad reporting can’t change the fact that Redgrave is the greatest actress in English today.
It’s shameful that artists are subjected to such personal, political bias. When will it end?
