Simi Valley Forward Paula Cooper Signs With Northridge

Paula Cooper, a forward from Simi Valley High, signed a letter of intent Thursday to play basketball at Cal State Northridge.
Cooper, 5-11, averaged 13.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3 blocked shots a game and was co-Most Valuable Player in the Marmonte League. She is the first player to be signed by Coach Leslie Milke this year.
Julie Arlotto, a high school teammate of Cooper, is also reportedly high on CSUN’s list of prospects. She shared the league’s MVP award with Cooper after averaging 18.5 points and 9.1 rebounds.
Pete Cassidy, coach of CSUN’s men’s basketball team, received a verbal commitment from Chuck McGavern of Orange Coast College.
McGavern, a 6-2 guard, averaged 13 points and 6.5 assists. He will sign a letter this morning.
