Pittsburgh-based Westinghouse Electric Corp. reported a rise in profit, despite lower sales, for the first quarter of 1987. Operating profit increased in the energy and advanced technology, industries and commercial segments. Operating profit of the broadcasting segment was even with the first quarter of last year, although the 1986 quarter included the operating profit of Group W Cable.
