The Master’s scored two ninth-inning runs to defeat Cal Lutheran in an NAIA District III game at Cal Lutheran. Chris Hernandez was 3 for 4 for Master’s and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly. Steve Kusmuk was 4 for 5 for Cal Lutheran.
SOFTBALL
Sophomore Sabrina Kuhn had a triple, two doubles and four RBIs to lead Pierce to a 14-2 Western State Conference win over Ventura. . . . Sophmore pitcher Karen Mead won her ninth straight WSC game and Krissy Erickson was 4 for 4 as Moorpark defeated Bakersfield, 3-1.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
The doubles team of Norma Bardakjian and Eileen Faley defeated Lan-Anh Bui and Kenna Duttweiler, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, in the final match of the day to give Pierce a 5-4 Western State Conference victory at Ventura. Pierce took just two of four singles matches, getting straight-set wins from Bardakjian and Stephanie Guss, but swept the doubles competition.
