Wilmington : State Drill Team Winner

The drill team at Wilmington Junior High School has taken top honors at the state drill team competition in El Monte.

The team won first place in the junior high military drill team division, giving the squad its fourth state title. The girls are also four-time winners of the National Junior Miss Drill Team U.S.A. Contest, in which they will compete again May 30 in Redondo Beach. The team, Los Angeles city champions for the past five years, also will defend its city title at a competition April 11 at Bell High School.
