Saying she was “tired of taking the blame” for the snafu during the best actor presentation at last week’s Academy Awards, an angry Bette Davis offered her side of the story to “Entertainment Tonight” on Monday. “My interview mike was cut out and the film clips were all mixed up,” Davis recalled. “I only had a chance to name one best actor nominee. At this point, someone rushed up and said ‘Go to the winner,’ making it necessary to eliminate three of the nominees.” Davis also was miffed that producers cut her appearance with academy president Robert Wise, who accepted Paul Newman’s Oscar. “We were done away with completely. It’s not my fault they were overtime; we’d rehearsed the show the day before.”
