Britain’s two state TV networks did not carry live coverage of the righting of the British ferry that capsized off the Belgian coast March 6 to spare relatives the possible horror of seeing bodies fall from the vessel, London officials said Tuesday. Spokesmen for the British Broadcasting Corp. and the Independent Television News said they delayed and edited the film for periodic bulletins during the day and for regular newscasts. An estimated 195 people died when the Herald of Free Enterprise capsized off shortly after leaving Zeebrugge. Sixty-one bodies were recovered; an estimated 134 bodies remained trapped inside.
