Beach Rescue Vehicles Are Donated by Nissan

Nissan Motor Corp., U.S.A., has donated 23 new emergency vehicles for use on city and county beaches.
Lifeguards will drive the bright orange four-wheel-drive pickup trucks and sport wagons, specially equipped with sirens, public address systems, radios, light bars and equipment racks. The automobile company, which donated the vehicles as a marketing tool, wants beachgoers to see the Nissan name.
The vehicles were presented Monday. Nineteen of the trucks and wagons will go to San Diego lifeguards; four were given to the county and will eventually become the property of the newly incorporated Solana Beach.
