Spill Slows Traffic: Hundreds of motorists were slowed or rerouted Monday after a truck hauling plaster spilled part of its load on the Riverside Freeway near Lakeview Avenue in Anaheim, authorities said. California Highway Patrol officers closed three of five lanes of traffic from 2:50 to 4 p.m. to allow emergency crews to clean up the spill, CHP Officer Paul Caldwell said. The plaster, a white powdery substance, is used to make stucco in home construction, Caldwell said. “It was quite a mess out there,” he added. The driver of the truck, whose identity was not immediately available, was cited for spilling the load, Caldwell said.
