Trimedyne Wins Patent for Laser Catheter Device

Trimedyne Inc., a Santa Ana-based laser manufacturer, has received a U.S. patent that covers the design and method of use for its laser catheter device for treatment of arteriosclerosis.
The device, the Laserprobe-PLR, had received U.S. Food and Drug Administration marketing approval in early March. Trimedyne is now seeking additional patents for its other medically related lasers.
