Soviet-born Marina Kunyavsky won her third straight overall title with a first-place finish in the clubs event and a tie for first in the rope in the U.S. rhythmic gymnastics championships at Shelbyville, Ind.
Kunyavsky, 21, now a U.S. citizen living in Los Angeles, finished with 38.15 points in the four events, edging Diane Simpson, who finished runner-up with 37.75, despite winning two events outright and tying Kunyavsky in the rope.
