Dow Tops 2,400 First Time

NEW YORK — Blue chip stocks were the standouts today in an otherwise lackluster session on Wall Street that saw the Dow Jones industrial average close above the 2,400 mark for the first time.
The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials closed up 15.20 at 2,405.54.
New York Stock Exchange volume was about 173.72 million shares compared with 213.39 million shares Friday.
