R&D; Complex Under Way in Irvine Spectrum

Construction has begun on a $23-million industrial/research-and-development complex, known as the Irvine/Sammis Venture, on a 14-acre site in the Irvine Spectrum at the juncture of the San Diego (405) and Santa Ana (5) freeways.
The 205,000-square-foot, multi-tenant development is being built as part of an agreement between the Irvine Co. and the Sammis Co.
ITT Components North America and ITT Multicomponents in Santa Ana have signed a $1.1-million lease agreement to become the first tenants in the complex, which is due to be completed in late 1987. Bernard Bros. of San Fernando is general contractor.
