Capo Valley’s Carolyn Wins U.S. Junior Swim Title

Christi Carolyn, 15, a freshman at Capistrano Valley High School, won the 50-yard freestyle Friday in the U.S. Junior National Swimming Championships at Milwaukee.
Carolyn, who swims for the Irvine Novaquatics, swam a lifetime best of 23.89 in the event. Later in the evening, the Irvine girls’ team finished fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:34.12. The Mission Viejo Nadadores girls’ relay team finished 16th in the same event.
