Let’s Save Water

An article on water in the the Santa Clarita Valley says, “Demand Could Outstrip Supply by 1922” (March 9).
Government agencies assure us they are thinking 25 years ahead. Why was conservation of water not mentioned? I’m beginning to think c onservation is a nasty word and something to be avoided.
Did you know that it takes:
Fifteen to 30 gallons to take a bath or shower.
Fifteen to 60 gallons to wash dishes.
Thirty gallons to wash clothes.
One hundred gallons to wash a car.
Four to seven gallons of water to flush a toilet once.
I have no idea how many gallons of water to keep a golf course green. I understand there are more than 20 golf courses in the Palm Springs area.
