Former two-time boxing champion Bobby Chacon lost his appeal of a six-month jail sentence for violating probation in a wife-beating case.
A three-judge appellate panel of Butte County Superior Court in Oroville, Calif., announced without comment that it had denied Chacon’s appeal of the sentence imposed in Justice Court.
Mike Ramsey, chief deputy district attorney, said Chacon, 35, would be notified of the decision at his mother’s home in Pacoima and ordered to appear in Oroville Municipal Court April 13. At that time, Ramsey said he will ask the court to lift a stay of execution of the sentence, and Chacon likely will be placed in the county jail.
