A bill requiring mandatory AIDS testing for people convicted of rape, prostitution and drug-related crimes was introduced by Sen. Don Nickles (R-Okla.), who also asked that the tests be required for prison inmates convicted of those crimes since 1978. “We have talked with experts in the medical field and there is a consensus that many individuals in these groups are at a high risk,” he said.
