Ralph Nader’s Congress Watch group inadvertently left the name of Sen. Pete Wilson (R-Calif.) off its list of members of Congress who are returning or giving away the $12,100 pay raise they got as a result of legislation that went into effect on Feb. 5. Wilson announced earlier this year in California that he had opposed the pay raise and would give it to charity. That is the solution being taken by most of the members of Congress who are opposed to the raise, although some are returning the money to the U.S. Treasury. Wilson said that his first award to charity will be $5,000 to the French Foundation for Alzheimer’s Research in Los Angeles. Members of Congress now make $89,500, up from $77,400.
