Forum Scheduled on Violence Against Gays
Los Angeles City Councilman Michael Woo will sponsor a forum Monday with Northeast Division police officials and neighborhood residents to discuss recent acts of violence against gays in the Sunset Junction area of Silver Lake.
The forum is expected to address the concerns of Silver Lake’s large gay community about increases in anti-homosexual violence in the wake of the Feb. 28 fatal shooting of a local man on a Sunset Junction street after he left a gay bar.
The forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 1523 Golden Gate Ave.
