Former KNBC anchor Frank Cruz has been promoted from station vice president to general manager at KVEA, one of the Los Angeles market’s two Spanish-language stations. Parent company Telemundo plans major programming additions--six new telenovelas, a Spanish-dubbed Jacques Cousteau exploration series, more boxing and baseball at KVEA. In addition, Telemundo President Donald G. Raider recently announced that the company intends to buy three new stations in Chicago, Houston and the San Francisco-San Jose area.
