Sammy Serrano, former two-time world junior lightweight boxing champion, pleaded guilty in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and will be sentenced June 5.
He faces a minimum 15 years in prison and $125,000 fine.
Serrano, 34, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute 750 grams of cocaine in a plea bargain agreement reached in federal court. In exchange for the guilty plea, another count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine will be dropped.
