The late Tennessee Williams, who once declared New Orleans’ French Quarter the closest thing he ever had to a home, will be honored next week at the new Tennessee Williams New Orleans Literary Festival. According to festival president Errol Laborde, it is all aimed at celebrating Williams’ love affair with the city he captured so well in “A Streetcar Named Desire”--and the city’s love affair with him. The event will feature several theatrical productions and panel discussions about Williams and his vision of the city.
