A 2-year-old girl from Escondido drowned Saturday after falling into the family swimming pool, the San Diego County coroner’s office reported.
Priscilla Thomas was pronounced dead at Palomar Hospital at 5:17 p.m., according to Deputy Coroner Jack Larkie.
The accident occurred an hour earlier in the backyard of the family’s home on Howe Place. The child reportedly was playing unattended in the yard and fell into the pool’s shallow end while riding her plastic tricycle, Larkie said.
