Mike Miscione, the Esperanza High School running back who led Orange County in rushing last season, heads the North team for the 28th Orange County All-Star football game July 17 in Orange Coast College’s LeBard Stadium.
Miscione rushed for 1,665 yards in 241 carries for a 6.9 average and scored 18 touchdowns. He gained 348 yards against El Dorado, the county’s second-best single-game performance.
Loara, which recorded six shutouts in 12 games, will be represented by defensive standouts Brian Malavar, Danny Rovira and Tony Ferrentino.
Offensive tackles James Rae of Esperanza and Jeff Bailey of Fullerton, who plan to play in the Shrine All-Star game, will skip the county game.
Mark McMahon, who led Orange to the Pacific Coast League title, will coach the team. He will be assisted by Anaheim’s Roger Stahlhut, who retired after the season ended.
