Ventura County ZIP Code Led in Building Permits

The relatively new city of Moorpark--specifically ZIP Code 93021 in Ventura County--led the five-county Los Angeles metropolitan area in construction activity last year with building permits totaling $181.1 million, according to the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
Ranking second was ZIP Code 91761 in Ontario, San Bernardino County, with $146.5 million, while Westwood’s 90024 ZIP code racked up $132.7 million. All three areas had a combination of residential and commercial developments.
In fourth place was ZIP 91765 in the Pomona/Diamond Bar area in eastern Los Angeles County, with $109.6 million in a mix of residential and commercial projects. In fifth position was ZIP Code 90017 in downtown Los Angeles, with permit valuations of $105.3 million, mainly for office buildings.
In Orange County, building activity last year was strong in the Irvine/Santa Ana area, with Laguna Niguel and Mission Viejo recording significant activity, according to the chamber.
