Slightly more than one of every two individuals transferring from one location to another last year moved to states in the Southeast and Northeast, according to latest figures compiled by RELO/Inter-City Relocation Service, headquartered in Chicago.
That amounts to an estimated 54% of all transferees.
Data from nearly 1,200 companies in the RELO network showed that about 70,000 individuals and their families--many of them corporate transferees--received relocation assistance last year. The RELO network assisted a nearly identical number of households in 1985.
