The World : Kenya Seizes Illegal Aliens

A number of Westerners, including two Americans, have been arrested and some have been fined after being detained in a crackdown against foreigners living in Kenya illegally, Western diplomats said. They said they did not know exactly how many foreigners had been arrested, but they included hundreds of Africans from neighboring countries. Most of the Westerners were arrested at Indian Ocean resorts, the diplomats said, but there were reports of some foreigners being threatened with arrest by police patrolling streets in the capital of Nairobi.
