National Health Care Systems Inc. said that Robert Y. Kim, formerly its chief operating officer, has been named president. Kim replaces Arthur D. Axelrod, who assumes the post of chairman of the board. Axelrod replaces U.T. Thompson III, who resigned the chairmanship on March 1. Thompson, who resigned for personal reasons, according to a company spokesman, will remain a director of the Irvine-based prepaid dental insurance firm,
