A 69-year-old man died five days after he and his wife were involved in a traffic collision, Fullerton police said. John Leroy Ringold of Brea died at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton. Police said Ringold was a passenger in a car driven by his wife, Evelyn Orange Ringold, 64, when they collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Berkeley Avenue and Lemon Street about 6:35 p.m. last Friday. Ringold suffered broken ribs, a broken left wrist and chest injuries, Police Sgt. Bud Lathrop said. His wife sustained chest and internal injuries and was taken to UCI Medical Center. Lathrop said that no citations or charges have been filed, but an investigation is continuing.
