James Roosevelt, the eldest son of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, will undergo surgery Thursday at University of California-Irvine Medical Center to remove a possibly malignant lesion from his colon, a spokeswoman said today.
Roosevelt, 79, of Newport Beach was admitted to UCI on Sunday, hospital spokeswoman Dale Eastman said. She said he entered the hospital for a mild form of anemia, and doctors discovered it was caused by a bleeding lesion, which will be removed.
