Chapman Ends Losing Streak by Beating Long Beach, 16-5

Chapman College snapped a five-game losing streak with a 16-5 victory over Cal State Long Beach in a nonconference baseball game at Hart Park Monday.
The Panthers rallied from a 2-0 deficit, scoring two runs in the fourth, four in the sixth and seven in the eighth.
John Morin and Mike Cruz led Chapman with three hits each, and Darren Nelson added four RBIs.
Jeff Mooney (2-3) allowed four hits in eight innings for the Panthers (8-12). Freshman Steve Halwey relieved Mooney in the ninth.
Chapman will meet Eastern Connecticut State in a doubleheader Tuesday at noon at Hart Park.
