I thoroughly enjoyed the offbeat “Cagney & Lacey” show of Feb. 16 (Cagney secretly planned a dinner for Lt. Samuels), even with its touch of slapstick. And what a delight it was to be able to respond to the humor with no intrusive laugh track--with its usual inane and inappropriate guffaws--to destroy a very funny episode. What a joy!
