Community College Softball : Lyman’s 1-Hitter Stops Saddleback

Joyce Lyman pitched a one-hitter and struck out four Wednesday to lead the Rancho Santiago College softball team to a 3-1 victory over Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference game at Santa Ana.
Rancho Santiago (2-0, 8-5) scored all its runs in the second inning. Christi Kalehuawehe drove in one run with a single. The other two scored on a ground ball and an error. Saddleback is 1-1, 15-2.
In other Orange Empire Conference action:
Riverside 3, Cypress 1--Riverside scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning on one hit and three Charger errors at Cypress College. Riverside is 1-1 and 1-10; Cypress is 1-2 and 5-7.
In South Coast Conference action:
Golden West 14, Long Beach City 0--Kathy Fogg pitched a one-hitter and struck out 11, and Robin Bokelman had a double, triple and scored four runs to lead the Rustlers (14-5) to an easy victory over the Vikings in the conference opener at Long Beach.
