A 13-year-old San Diego boy was slightly injured Wednesday when he was grazed by gunfire shot from a moving vehicle in Southeast San Diego, police said.
The youth, who was hit in his right arm and right hip, was treated by paramedics at the scene. Hospitalization was not required for the victim, who was identified as Jose Castro.
Police said two vehicles were traveling at high speed southbound on Escuela Street at 3:18 p.m. when both turned west onto Guymon Street, where the victim was crossing. A passenger in one vehicle fired about three shots at the other vehicle, striking the boy, police said.
San Diego police were investigating the incident. No suspects were in custody Wednesday night.
