Hotel Seeks Payment: The Registry Hotel has filed a lawsuit seeking $97,000 because its telephone service was knocked out for two days last year. Defendants in the Superior Court suit are Pacific Bell, American Telephone & Telegraph and a contractor, L. E. Meyers, which was performing road work nearby. Meyers employees damaged lines to the Irvine hotel, and Bell and AT&T; failed to keep a promise to provide continuous telephone service, the lawsuit states. The loss of two days of telephone service, ending March 13, cost the hotel clientele, future reservations, sales and good will totaling at least $97,000, according to the lawsuit.
