Walnut : Openings for Finance Panel
The City Council is seeking 15 volunteers to serve on a finance committee that will look for ways to pay for public improvements, including street repairs, storm drains, traffic signals and park improvements.
Most of the $6 million budgeted for public improvements this year has been raised by developer fees, which will decrease as the city reaches its population limit of 30,000, which is expected in five years. Residents who have an expertise in finance or business may contact City Hall. Appointments will be made by July 1, and volunteers are expected to participate for one year.
