Moody’s Investors Service said it has placed the senior debt ratings of Dayton Hudson under review for possible downgrade . . . The board of American Stores, owner of Alpha Beta and Sav-on Osco, increased by 1 million shares a previous authorization to buy 2 million shares of the company’s common stock, bringing the total authorization to 3 million shares . . . Newark, Calif.-based Ross Stores Inc. said it has completed a private placement of 2.7 million shares of its common stock. The net proceeds of $16.5 million will be used for general corporate purposes.
