Granger Gets Damages Over Book on Burton

LONDON — Stewart Granger was awarded damages by London’s High Court today over allegations in a book that Richard Burton seduced Granger’s second wife, actress Jean Simmons.
A biography of the late Burton by Penny Junor claimed that he seduced Simmons in the Granger home while Granger was asleep in another room. Granger, 73, who now lives in California, was awarded “substantial” damages, his lawyer said.
