McDonnell resumed talks on a venture with Airbus.

St. Louis-based McDonnell Douglas has restarted informal talks with Airbus Industrie, the European consortium, for a possible joint venture on aircraft production. McDonnell has not indicated which products are under consideration for collaboration, but one possibility is McDonnell’s MD-11 and Airbus’s A-340, which are in direct competition.
