A poll taken by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce showed that two-thirds of the city’s residents surveyed would like the 1996 Olympics to be held in the Bay City. Chamber officials said 67% wanted San Francisco to bid for the Games, 26% were opposed to a bid and the rest were undecided. San Francisco is one of 13 U.S. cities that are considering a bid.
