‘TOP GUN’ WINS ‘CHOICE’ AWARDS

“Top Gun” was the top gun in the 22nd annual “Your Choice for the Film Awards,” presented Saturday night on KHJ-TV Channel 9.

“Top Gun” was named best motion picture, and Tom Cruise was cited as best actor for his work in that film and in “The Color of Money.” “Take My Breath Away” from “Top Gun” won as best song.

The best actress award went to Sigourney Weaver for “Alien.” Supporting actor awards were voted to Jackie Gleason for “Nothing in Common” and Maureen Stapleton for “Heartburn” and “The Money Pit.”
