Development on Whittier Hillsides

“A Road Everybody Wants,” indeed! Your article (Feb. 22) on the Hadley Street extension carries a misleading headline, for there is and has been strong opposition to the proposal by conservationists who see the hills as a unique and valuable feature of our environment.
Nor does Whittier need any more overpriced hillside development. (Send your reporter to see the cruel mess of “spyglass homes” off Workman Mill Road on the west side of Whittier.)
The poor state of downtown businesses can hardly be blamed on lack of access, for it is endemic in towns comparable to Whittier where access is obviously no problem.
