Bird Leads Northridge Volleyball Team to Win

Senior Mike Bird had a team-high 19 kills as Cal State Northridge beat Chapman College, 15-10, 15-4, 6-15, 15-5, in a nonconference volleyball match Thursday at Chapman.
Freshman Ron Lins added 11 kills and sophomore Jeff McClean had eight kills for CSUN (8-12 overall). Erich Schiltz led Chapman (2-4) with 19 kills.
CSUN’s next match will be at home against sixth-ranked George Mason of Virginia on Monday at7:30 p.m.
