A fire at a Sepulveda motel Friday night killed an unidentified man and caused $42,000 damage to the building, Los Angeles city fire officials said.
The man, in his late 30s, had not been identified. No other injuries were reported, said Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells.
The fire broke out at the Vagabond Motel, 9229 Sepulveda Blvd., about 7 p.m. and was put out in 11 minutes, Wells said.
One of the motel rooms was engulfed in flames and two others received some damage, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
