Irvine-based Fluor Corp., an engineering and manufacturing company, and Motor-Columbis Ltd., a Swiss investment firm, have formed a jointly owned subsidiary, headquartered in London, to contract for the engineering and construction of power facilities around the world, a Fluor spokesman said.
The newly formed company, Fluor Motor-Columbus Ltd., will be chaired for the first year by Hugh K. Coble, the group president of Fluor’s London-based subsidiary Fluor Daniel International.
The company’s new overseas partner, Motor-Columbus Ltd., based in Baden, Switzerland, is an international investor in a wide range of technology-oriented companies and also specializes in management financing, Fluor said.
Each company contributed an equal share of funds to start the new subsidiary. Fluor refused to divulge the amount.
