Hawthorne : Annexation Plan Advances

The City Council has taken the first step toward annexation of a portion of unincorporated Lennox, just south of the planned Century Freeway, by approving tentative zoning for the area to conform with the city’s general plan.
Residents in the mixed-use area bounded by Inglewood and Prairie avenues, Imperial Highway and the freeway route are expected to vote on the annexation plan by the end of the year, City Manager R. Kenneth Jue said.
